Lighthouses are places that were once used for navigation and other functions, but today are used for tourist attractions. A lighthouse is a tall building, structure, or an island-shaped platform, usually designed to emit visible light from a network of lamps and lenses onto dry land or into the water for navigation by naval crews on board a ship, boat, or other type of vessel, as well as to serve as a guiding tool for mariners who navigate inland. In Asturias, as in many other Spanish towns and cities, you can walk to the crown jewel of the mountain, the Pile de la Conch Mountain. Here, you will be able to see the lighthouse at its peak. Mallorca has similar sights, including the lighthouse and the Santa Maria Novella, which overlook the town.
