Lighthouse In California – What You Can Do on Your Next Trip to The West Coast
The Lighthouse in California is a lovely little gem on a piece of land right off the Pacific Coast Highway. It sits just off the Laguna Beach Boardwalk and is just a few minutes walk from the sandy beaches of Southern California. You will see this historical landmark standing high on the cliff above the Pacific Ocean with breathtaking views of the crystal blue water below you and a wonderful view of the amazing Coronado Island beach as well. Every year many area attractions come to the area including the Historic Gas Lamp District, which is one of the best preserved historic districts in Southern California.
You can find the Lighthouse at a location that is about a three mile drive from downtown Laguna Beach. You will need to get onto I-Drive South to reach it, then take a left on Main Street. Once you are parked in the shade, turn around and look right at the lighthouse and you will be at the perfect location for pictures, a picnic or just to sit and enjoy the sunshine. At this point in time the lighthouse is not open to visitors but it is expected to be in operation in the very near future. In the mean time, there are plenty of activities that you can do in order to make your visit to this historical treasure a memorable one!
You can find lodging right next to the lighthouse with many different types of accommodations, such as hotel rooms, cabin rentals, beach house rentals and bed and breakfast accommodations. You can stay on the beach or you can rent a cabin out for the weekend and enjoy the beautiful views from the deck or the balcony. There is so much to do in and around the area that you can’t pass up the opportunity to take advantage of it.
