The founders of Lighthouse Daycare are parents who believe that childcare is a fundamental right. With over 20 years experience in the child care industry, Amy has extensive knowledge and skills to provide exceptional care for young children. She is a certified child development associate (CDA) and holds an associates degree in science. She is currently pursuing a head teacher certification. A former stay-at-home mom, Amy is the proud mother of two children who attended the Lighthouse School. Her daughter is a college graduate and her son is currently attending college.
The Lighthouse daycare provides part-time Preschool and Mother’s Day Out programs. All Lighthouse programs incorporate a curriculum that focuses on the development of the child’s physical, social, cognitive, and emotional well-being. Children also learn to build positive peer relationships. The centre’s curriculum includes modules in math, language, and science. Children are given a chance to participate in hands-on activities, participate in games, and complete projects.
Since the daycare received multiple complaints in April, the state and law enforcement investigated the daycare. The employee involved was terminated, but the investigation is ongoing. Despite the positive results of the investigation, more complaints have surfaced. It is unclear whether the allegations of abuse and neglect are based on facts or fiction.
