Lighthouse Family Retreat is a Faith-based non-profit organization which exists to strengthen each family staying through cancer diagnosis with unique seaside Retreats and daily resourses designed to communicate to and nourish the body and soul. The organization works in partnership with local hospitals, treatment centers, and outpatient clinics throughout its 30 plus location nationally. The program provides residential treatment for cancer patients in a loving and supportive atmosphere. Its mission is to enhance each patient’s life while helping the entire family cope with the challenge of cancer diagnosis and metastasis. Established in 1974, the company has grown to over one hundred five locations nationwide.

During the last ten years, the Lighthouse Family Retreat has grown to employ over one hundred staff members, all focused on offering a variety of services to families struggling through this life changing event. Through its innovative and highly effective treatment programs, the organization offers children and families access to some eleven relaxing and invigorating daycare centers and onsite adult daycare centers as well. It also partners with local hospitals and nursing homes to offer respite care to their residents.

As a faith-based organization, Lighthouse Family Retreat is dedicated to supplying a nurturing environment where members can openly discuss emotional and physical healing issues in an atmosphere that supports growth and spiritual awareness. Its retreats are attended by both adults and children and encompass a combination of fun activities geared toward engaging the entire family. Some of the main activities offered are arts and crafts, cooking demonstrations, educational discussions, and nature hikes. Guided meditation classes, yoga, and education programs focusing on spirituality, health, and family are also offered throughout the week at each of the Lighthouse Retreat locations.
