Lighthouses serve a very specific yet very important purpose: they help to prevent ships from running aground. But they can also be a lovely and picturesque addition to any landscape, which makes them a common feature in many pieces of artwork. Today, we’re going to show you how to draw a beautiful and detailed lighthouse using the PicsArt Drawing Tools!
To start our lighthouse drawing we’ll begin by sketching a rough outline. Try not to worry about the fine details too much – just focus on getting the general shape and size right. After that, reduce the opacity of your sketch and use it as a guide to trace a more refined version over it.
Next, add the windows and shutter slats to the lighthouse. Use a series of thick, crisscross lines to shade them in. You can also sketch in some rocky rocks to add some depth to your drawing. Then add the sea, making sure that it’s darker on the horizon and lighter towards the foreground. Finally, add some grasses overlapping the water to add some distance between the sea and the meadow.
Now that we’ve finished our lighthouse drawing, it’s time to give it some color! Feel free to experiment with different colors and shades to get the perfect look for your lighthouse. You can even add some rain to your scene for an extra dramatic effect!
