Lighthouse Baptist Church

About

We believe that God’s plan of salvation is revealed in the Scriptures and is obtainable by anyone who will repent of sin, accept Jesus Christ as Savior, and be baptized. This is followed by the Lord’s Supper and a life of discipleship. We believe that the Church, which is His body, is composed of all born-again believers who have voluntarily accepted the Gospel and united together in fellowship for the purpose of glorifying God. It is our conviction that the local church has two ordinances: baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper.

In July of 1999, a few dedicated families began praying and discussing the idea of starting a new church. Within a short time, they had organized the church and found a meeting place at Fisherman’s Net Restaurant in Dawson County. It was there that Lighthouse Baptist Church held its first services in October of 1999.

As the church continued to grow, the membership participated in fundraising, remodeling and ministry organization to enable the church to expand. A choir loft and additional seating were added to the sanctuary. Awana Clubs were started in the church, helping to provide a biblical foundation for the children of Lighthouse.

The Lighthouse Baptist School was established to help Christian parents meet their responsibility before God of “bringing up their children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.” It is our goal to provide instruction that is decidedly Christian in content and character, and Baptist in doctrine and practice.
